Benitses

Benitses happens to be one of the most idyllic villages of Corfu, nestled among mountains and sea. A community of nearly one thousand friendly residents awaits to make your holiday both comfortable, safe and exciting.

If you want to explore our island then Benitses is an excellent starting point for delightful excursions to the scenic North and South of Corfu, but also to its West where you can enjoy golden, sandy beaches and romantic sunsets.

During your stay do not neglect to walk our “kantounia”; the narrow alleys that run through our village, a typical feature of Corfu’s Venetian past that will stir your heart and inspire you to seek out all of the hidden beauties of our unique folklore.

Follow the path from the Old Village to the Springs -gr: “Piges”. It is guaranteed to make a lasting impression on your memory. Alternatively, you can get your day’s workout by ascending the road which leads up to the church of “AgiaParaskevi” in order to experience a truly majestic view of the village – then quench your thirst at the spring in front of the church’s front-yard.

If on the other hand you are not as keen on exploring the natural scenery of our village then avail yourself of its modern day facilities punctuated by the Yachting marina with a capacity to harbor 100 sailing boats, numerous restaurants, bars and cafes. Essential services include a local police station, a pharmacy, a number of mini-markets and two outpatient clinics.

Benitses is ideally suited for family vacations. It is unlikely elsewhere in Corfu to come across a village having simultaneously a sizeable square, a nice playground for your children to play safely and accessible, pebbled “Blue Flag” beaches.

Last -but not least- your stay here ought to include a visit to the Benitses Sea Museum -gr: “MusioThalassis”- comprised of a private collection of corrals, sharks, as well as, many other marine species endemic to the Greek seas.
